The unofficial start of the wedding took place Thursday night when I had a girls night out with my sisters. It was a true treat — and we were having such a great time that we threw caution to the wind and went all out on desserts.
Friday morning kicked off the official start of the wedding weekend, when we went to Wat Dhammasala in Perry, Mich., to offer a donation and receive a blessing. This was not a formal Thai wedding ceremony, but it was a wonderful way to start off the weekend!
My sister Sedora and my mom were gaga over the temple dog, Yim. I’ll try to add more pics later.
The day ended with my parents meeting Scott’s parents over a delicious sushi/hibachi dinner at Maru in Okemos. Our parents had a blast, and Scott, Alisa, Sedora and I did too at the other end of the table. We had an epic meal of roll after roll — and the sushi chef was so sweet to send us an unannounced roll as a present for our parents meeting!
Being the professional diners that we are, we even enjoyed dessert. Sedora said it was an epic meal, and Alisa said it was a top 10 meal ever.
